Design and Construction

Remco Technology covers designed as multiple layer, factory assembled insulation system and base on:

  • Engineering specification
  • Operating temperature of equipment
  • Surface temperature on top of the cover
  • Surrounding environment
    • exposure to chemicals / hot oil
    • weather
    • wash downs
    • saltwater
  • Equipment size and shape

The covers are custom designed for each individual item to be insulated, assuring custom fit and close attention to penetration, supports, brackets, tracers, etc, and allow the drainage in the event of a leak. Covers are one piece construction large, thick & heavier than 50 lb are fabricated in two or more pieces.

First layer (hot side) inner jacketing

  • 17 oz. Silicone coated fiberglass cloth
  • 17 oz. Teflon coated fiberglass cloth
  • 18 oz. Plain Fireberglass cloth
  • 304 Stainless steel knitted wire mesh
  • 304 Stainless steel foil

Second layer in capsulated insulation

  • 3# density fiberglass
  • 11# density tempmat
  • 8# density cerawool

Third outside layer

  • 17 oz. Silicone coated fiberglass cloth
  • 17 oz. Teflon coated fiberglass cloth
  • 22 oz. Plain fiberglass cloth with aluminum foil lamination

Colored materials are also available.

Thread

  • Teflon coated fiberglass
  • 10 ply stainless steel nomex coated

Covers are machine sewn inside out (no visible seams) with double sewn and lock stitched


Closure

  • Velcro belts with double D-rings
  • Velcro flaps
  • Carbon or Stainless steel quilting hooks (lacing anchors)
  • Stainless steel wire
  • Springs
  • Drawstring flaps






All covers are provided with identification stainless steel or aluminum tags.
